The Orongorongo Club organises a number of social events in the valley each year.
Club events include New Years Eve BBQ, Anniversary Weekend River Bed Golf Tournament, Hut Wine Tour and Kid’s Moa Hunt. Orongorongo Club Easter Kid’s Moa Hunt.
The annual Easter Kid’s Moa Hunt encourages kids to learn hunting, trapping and bush skills as well as conservation knowledge. Kids spend the weekend hunting and trapping possums, rats and goats and we have a weigh-in on the Sunday. At the weigh-in we also have a Plant Hunt, Billy Boiling, Stag Roaring and "Hard Luck" Stories competitions.
The kids receive trophies and small prizes and of course, Easter eggs for their efforts!
